The backlink service is an extra monthly service you can add to the existing compulsory audit option.
I would like to use this article to explain more in detail what can be done for you. It is also worth reminding you, that a handful of backlinks is included within the compulsory Audit service offered, that may be enough for some small business who only need to be found for their brand name or similar.
Most SEO strategists would agree that attaining powerful backlinks that have relevancy and authority can be extremely powerful. Google identifies a backlink as a vote for your website, but it is equally important to know that not all backlinks are the same, in fact some can hurt your website. Any website that has a level of competitors for certain keywords, will need a backlink profile to compete with them. The size and power of this profile will depend on how competitive the keywords you are trying to rank for are.
This is also the most expensive process in SEO, either through outreach where a significant amount of time and effort is required to attain each link. Or by just paying for a link directly, either through banner advertising, blog posts quality directories or backlink services.
A whole sub-industry has been formed of link-building providers. Unfortunately, it is this industry that has given SEO a bad name over the last 2 decades, with most of these services, being operated from back rooms with big promises and little results.
The introduction of 3rd party backlink tools such as Ahrefs, Majestic and have aided theses services. Many of these services use DA (domain authority) scores as a marketing tool to suggest their links they are selling are powerful. These tools are useful as a guide but never buy a link based on its third-party DA score alone, these can easily be faked. A lot more research needs to happen to understand how powerful a backlink is and if it is worth attaining.
There are some trusted sources, these backlinks are expensive but do work. Most agencies, will use these trusted service providers, who go the extra mile to attain powerful links, and use their connections to attain more. Expensive, but cheaper than employment.

It is important to know, what anchor text to use and which pages to send the links to get a balanced natural profile, this is where my SEO experience comes in. What webpage the backlink comes from is just as important, relevancy is a very powerful metric.
